Problem
Every weather app answers "will it rain". The people I sail with in Kiel ask three other things first: when is high water, how big is the swell, where is the wind coming from. No app puts those on one screen.
Approach
A self-initiated concept, built as a public prototype over six weekends. The forecast screen leads with a tide and wave chart across the day; the wind map, the tide table and the alerts each get one screen and nothing more. A web version and a widget gallery were designed to test the same data at other sizes.
Outcome
Shipped as a public prototype with the research notes attached. Two sailing clubs asked for it to be real, which is a good sign for a concept.
